oh crap!

I was definitely not planning on stumbling into these Sam Edelman studded suede boots on Gilt Groupe tonight. But let's be real: HOW could anyone NOT fall in love with these God's gift to shoe-lovers?!? (Look at the studs! They. are. shaped. like. stars! Like ****'s!!!) Obviously, leaping for the wallet and maniacal laughter ensued. I will be stalking the mailbox starting August 17th. Truth.

PS: Need a GG invite? Here you go.

jewelry with character

This Love Ballerina Brooch by Steven Alan is so exquisite. I feel like I'd just put it on my desk and stare at it all day instead of wearing it!

I am obsessed with these two Burberry pieces from Gilt Groupe. Amber is one of the most popular jewels in Prague, so every day last semester these orange-hued stones seemed to follow me around everywhere!

And last but not least, this Avanessi "Love" bracelet makes me smile.

Not member of Gilt Groupe? Here's an invite. xo

artistic inspiration

After today, I have two weeks of free time. Yup, it's the last day of my internship! Though getting to the office at 8:30 AM was tough, I'm sad I won't be working anymore (at least not until after Prague). Which is why I need some inspiration to be productive for the rest of summer. Like, make jewelry... or take a sewing tutorial... or... well, do something I haven't done before! (Any ideas?)

(sexy from the front and the back, via gilt groupe)

During my lunch break, I usually spend 10 minutes actually eating lunch and about 30 minutes looking at shoes. I guess I have an appetite like Carrie Bradshaw's: "When I first moved to NY and I was totally broke, sometimes I would buy Vogue instead of dinner. I just felt it fed me more." Of course, I don't buy all the shoes I admire -- I do have some restraint. Like these Diane von Furstenberg sandals are only $118, but I refrained from purchasing because they were a size 6 instead of a 5.5. See, shoe junkies can be practical too! Who's proud of me? :)

put a ring on it

(photos via gilt groupe)

This D&G ring is so cool. It's like a little bracelet or keychain, except for your digits... neato! What do you think? Would you wear this dangly, chain-like ring? (I would in a heartbeat!)

moving out

I officially moved out of my swank Gramercy apartment today -- another year completed at NYU! Not much to share except that packing, hauling, traveling, and unpacking can really take a toll on a girl! I was absolutely exhausted and ended up taking a five hour nap until now.

Also, a personal observation: luggage is a priority investment! I had only two suitcases, so when those were filled, I was forced to dump the rest of my stuff in huge trash/laundry bags. Not very chic. I need to go luggage shopping pronto (for Europe in the Fall)! Some inspiration: this Samsonite McQueen traveler bag for my business suits. Classy!

PS: A summer back home in the 'burbs of Philly means trying new things. My friend Amy and I are planning to try Bikram yoga -- a major step up from my sporadic yoga trips. I'm excited! (And kinda scared...)

Geez!

Gilt Groupe is getting much too crazy. Everything my size is sold out in half an hour! Today's Abaete sale was killer. I was eyeing the yellow blouse below, but it's all gone... and I'm contemplating the white blouse, but it's see through. I could pull a Carrie and run with it, but I think I have enough sheer blouses to satisfy my risqué side for now. But silk blouses are really special, don't you think? So comfy and luxurious!

accessories fit for a princess

Isharya jewelry is so, so exotic and beautiful that I feel a little faint looking at them. They're Indian-inspired -- go figure as to why I love them so much! I want everything on the page, but these are my favorites:

in the details

I love this two-toned Valentino dress. Three-quarters sleeves are great, and black and white color blocking is so classic. Also, cute, quirky details at the waist! Very pretty.

this is very upsetting...

I want this pair of Theory pumps from Gilt Groupe, on sale for $100 (original price $265). Snake skin, sturdy 4 inch heel, and available in three colors (brown, light gray, and black) -- pretty much perfect. But WHY is my size (35.5) completely sold out, and only my size! Since when did all bargain-fashionistas have tiny feet?! Please excuse me while I go to my corner for a good cry.

a tri-colored palette

Yesterday, my friend Anuja told me how much she enjoyed hearing my fashion outlook and recommended that I occasionally create "outfits" for this blog. I thanked her for the compliment and pondered the idea for the rest of the night. At first, I was hesitant - I've never been the kind of person who believed in matching or fashion "rules"; I've always dressed to fit my moods and personal eccentrics. Who was I to tell people how to dress and what to wear with what?

Yet, my goal for this blog has always been to provide an insight on different interesting and lovely things, which of course would include some fun looks - so I decided, why not? I don't want to create guidelines or offer any advice, but rather spread an appreciation for things like detail and richness in color and texture, to provide the looks that will help develop your own preferred style aesthetic. Fashion is too much fun not to share, am I right?
