I'm juggling a few books right now, but just finished reading
My First New York, which features short essays by remarkable people and their experiences with the city.... kind of like the film
"New York I Love You," but actually real! I think I was drawn to it because
Nora Ephron contributed a piece, but all of the stories were great. Was also surprised by how close-knit and gossipy the arts industry was in New York from the 40's and onward.... reading about Jackson Pollack screaming "I am Nature" in a bar was a treat!
Makes me think of my own first New York experience... I moved to Manhattan in 2007 to study marketing at NYU, and now 6 years later, I'm still living here, working in Marketing! I guess my First New York essay is still in development :)
What are you reading these days?
Ooh this sounds so fun! And I just finished Room and it's remarkable. Seriously. Read that
