escaping our own negative thoughts

Phew, this weekend was a tough one. Friday and Saturday found me worn down and anxious. I hadn't felt so gloomy and defeated since junior year of college.... sometimes the uncertainties of the future (and my need to control) are so overwhelming, they're all I think about! I'm so glad I've cleared my head since yesterday. Here are a few gentle reminders from the web that helped me pull away from the negativity....

  1. I'm in the same boat. It's hard to stay positive!

  2. I'm sure a lot of lovely people will benefit from this post. I especially love the last image, with 5 rules. #5 is especially important, because expectations inevitable cause disappointment, even when things turn out alright! Giving is important too, since putting our attention and thought toward others helps us take that attention off of ourselves. There's such a thing as too much introspection!
