a summer read

I'm reading the most fascinating book, and it's called Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. Half memoir, half essay, and wholly life-changing. To be fair, I've never read a book about the food industry or really reflected much on the origins of the things I eat, but this book is truly food for thought and I'd highly recommend it. I'm already seeing my groceries in a whole new light!

Like paying extra attention to this random cabbage that was sitting by our garage door. (Got some weird looks from my family though!) No, but in all seriousness, I'm really starting to care more about the things I ingest. Maybe I should read this book next?

  1. That book looks great, I love foodie memoir types!
Ha, I was going to suggest Eating Animals before I saw that you linked it. I haven't read it yet but I love JSF.

  2. Omnivore's Delimma is good too.
I am vegetarian/occassionally eat fish because I feel it is very important to pay attention to what goes into our bodies. I think it has a lot to do with your family medical history and your personal history, but I think everyone can stand to take some dietary improvement. When you are done with this book you should give us a full review!
