That sucks.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had the power to give up something for Lent.
I feel like most people give up things that either aren't too difficult to give up (aka, more luxury than necessity), or they try to tackle something completely difficult and set themselves up for failure. Lent is just completely overglorified, bah.
ReplyDeleteThat's because people think Lent is about giving something up.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't. Lent is about realizing what in your life is standing between you and God and working to remove that barrier in your life. What you give up during Lent, you're suppose to give up forever. You're not suppose to focus on what it is that you gave up, but rather why that weakened your relationship with God.
That is what lent is supposed to be about.
OH, how insightful. I never knew that!
