closet envy

Wowser, is this open closet beautiful or what? I have a teeny tiny closet, so I love the idea of displaying clothes & shoes in such an open space! Oh if only...

pretty print present

It's the day after Christmas, and I'm warm and snuggled up in my fabulous new leopard print Snuggie while its snowing outside -- what a luxury! Was Christmas good to you all? I have some very generous friends and family and am feeling very, very blessed.

Did you get anything special for yourself? I just indulged my design taste buds in a delicious treat: this beautiful Manhattan poster by Jim Datz, sold exclusively at my favorite Philadelphia online flea market Three Potato Four. I couldn't resist, it was love at first sight! I'm such a sucker for New York, maps, and pretty typography. :)

christmas toast!

How lovely is this toast to friends? I love the progression and of course the beautiful message. Hope you are spending as much time as you can with loved ones!

hello yellow

Finally back in Philly for winter break! Which means I can finally focus on Christmas gift hunting! While browsing online for gift ideas earlier today, I kept gravitating to the color yellow. It's so vibrant and happy -- definitely one of my favorite colors (in a tie with red). Here are a few sunshiny items I found...

reading period

I am officially on my last ever winter break starting at 1pm this Tuesday, after my final exam of the semester. Yipppeee!!! SO excited to sleep, exercise, and most of all read! I have a book list about a mile long, mostly consisting of memoir, fiction, and short story genres (like this and that). And yes, I am that person who always buys books as Christmas gifts... will share those exact details after Christmas, of course!

Got any suggestions for my to-read list? I usually tell my friends at business school to read Keith Ferrazzi's Never Eat Alone and for all who love a good memoir to crack open Jeannette Walls' The Glass Castle. Happy reading dolls!

rent the runway

Friends! I almost forgot to tell you a lovely story and experience that happened to me recently! So two months ago, I asked one of my favorite startup companies, Rent the Runway, if they'd be willing to visit my entrepreneurship club at school and chat about their business. To my delight and surprise, Co-founders Jenn Hyman and Jenny Fleiss said yes, and came in December 6th. It was phenomenal and super inspiring to meet two of my entrepreneurial heroes in person!

city chic

Oh how I love that the weather in NYC was forgivingly warm today. Instead of bundling in my thickest knit scarves and wool jackets, I wore my maroon beanie and light navy jacket. It was all very much ta-da, all done! I love winter fashion.

PS: Tomorrow, I'm going to go and finally use my awesome Groupon deal -- $25 for $50 worth of American Apparel. Shhweet! Not yet a Groupon member? Here ya go!

om nom nom

Just bought a whole bag filled with 15+ apples to munch for the next two final exam-consumed weeks. So inspired by this little apple, peanut butter, and chocolate chip sandwich! So much fun with so little. (photo via pintrest)

83 year old friend

Friends, I've been crazy busy lately, and you know I've realized? I am a heck of a distracted, self-focused person when I'm busy! I easily forget to appreciate the teeny, tiny wonderful things in life -- things which actually are far bigger than me. I was reminded of exactly one of these things recently...

Caffe Reggio now

I frequent Caffe Reggio (one of my favorite cafes) almost every week for meetings, dates, whatnot. (It's super close to NYU and was also the first cafe to serve a cappuccino in the U.S!) While I was emailing Caffe Reggio's website to a friend, I stumbled across pictures of the cafe from when it first opened in 1927 to present day.

Caffe Reggio in 1975

Wow. I've been hanging out at Caffe Reggio for four years now, since my friend Perry introduced me, and I never saw it for what it really was: a historical treasure. I mean, more like an 83 year old friend with such a cool life!!! Films were shot there; Al Pacino ate there; generations of New Yorkers hung out there ... and here I am totally taking it for granted as just a place to grab coffee while I complained to friends about how busy my life is. How self-absorbed! I am so, so humbled.

Thanks Caffe Reggio for the beautiful pictures, and for rescuing me from my me-complex! ;)

fly me to the... earth!

Obsessed with this butterfly globe. Wouldn't a gorgeous piece like this just light up a room? I hope everyone is having a wonderful post-Thanksgiving week! I can't wait to catch up soon once my workload lightens up. Lots to tell you! xoxo
